Soooo as all (one) of you know, my mom and I graduated college like two weeks ago. It's kinda weird that I'm a college graduate. I don't know what to do now and it's kind of bumming me out, but I'm trying not to think about it too much.
I'll probably blog about that later on, but right now, fishy news. I got a new betta, Maurice (below).Maurice is a half-moon betta, and I rescued him from certain nasty cuppy death at Petco. He's currently living in a filtered, heated 2 gallon hex aquarium, and seems to be damned happy since I've only had him two days and he's already blown a bubble nest. I've had Boris about two months and he lives in a five gallon tank, but he has yet to make one.

Speaking of Boris, that fish is angry all the time and his fins have gotten all crazy long. I don't even have to put a mirror up to the tank for him to flare. I just look at him and he's all *flareflareflare*. He seems to be digging the tank though.

This is boris when I got him in mid-March. He was just a baby, probably only about 3 or 4 months old.

This is him in late April. Fins are longer and he's more pissed off at stuff.

And these are a couple pictures of the turd about an hour ago. The first where he's flaring up at me for no reason whatsoever, and the second where he
looks kind of chilled, but he's probably got murder on the brain. In any case, every single damn photo on here is a miracle, because I swear I took probably hundreds of shots and these were the best. Whoever said "bettas aren't very active and don't move around much" was so full of shit. The turds are constantly moving, just like other fish. It's just because they're kept in cold, nasty water in pet stores that they lay there looking pitiful. I hate people. Ugh.
I love bettas.
